About Me
All the items for sale on Cuckoo’s Nest Creations are created by me, Lisa Firth, a crafter and author from Bingley in West Yorkshire.
I first learned to knit and crochet as a little girl with my nan as my teacher. She was an expert in both crafts and clothed our whole family with her hook and needles. My first makes were scarves – a knitted one that I made for my grandad, with many patched-up holes where I’d dropped stitches, and a crocheted one for my mum that was twice as wide at one end as the other! But they loved me so they wore them anyway.
I neglected my yarncrafts as a teenager, but returned to them in my twenties and now I’m rarely without a project on hand. You can see some of my past makes in the gallery, or on my Ravelry page. Do let me know if you’d like to commission a custom-made item.
When I’m not knitting or crocheting, I can usually be found hiking around the woods and moors with my partner and our two border collies, or working on one of the World War II novels I write as Betty Firth.
